These Booking Terms apply when you reserve a property through BitsAndPlaces. By completing a reservation, you agree to these Booking Terms, the Cancellation Policy, the Privacy Policy, the General Terms, the property listing and any house rules or additional terms shown before payment.
1. Who we are
BitsAndPlaces is a vacation-rental booking platform operated by Ionbnb LLC (“BitsAndPlaces,” “we,” “us” or “our”). We provide property listings, reservation processing and guest-payment services. Properties are owned or controlled by independent property owners or operators (each a “Host”).
2. Eligibility and booking authority
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. A property may impose a higher minimum age. The person making the reservation is the primary guest and is responsible for the reservation, payment, all accompanying guests, and compliance with the listing and house rules.
You must provide accurate contact, guest and payment information. You may use a payment method only if you are authorized to use it.
3. Reservation acceptance
A submitted request is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed and you receive written confirmation from BitsAndPlaces. We or the Host may decline or cancel a reservation before confirmation if the property is unavailable, listing information is materially incorrect, payment cannot be processed, or the reservation appears fraudulent or inconsistent with the property rules.
4. Prices, fees and taxes
The displayed booking rate incorporates the BitsAndPlaces platform charge associated with the Bitcoin-linked Promotion. There is no separate 7.5% non-promotional booking option. Before payment, the checkout page will identify the lodging charges, cleaning fees, taxes, deposits and any optional services that apply. You authorize BitsAndPlaces and its payment processor to charge the total amount shown at checkout.
Prices may change before a reservation is confirmed. Once confirmed, the reservation price will not increase unless you request a change, add services, cause additional charges, or applicable taxes or government charges change.
5. Payments
Payments are made in U.S. dollars and are processed through Stripe or another disclosed payment provider. BitsAndPlaces does not require you to purchase Bitcoin or use a cryptocurrency wallet. Payment timing, installment requirements and security-deposit terms will be shown before checkout or in the booking confirmation.
If a payment is reversed, disputed, fraudulent or not received when due, we may suspend or cancel the reservation, subject to applicable law.
6. Bitcoin-linked promotional rebate
Every qualifying reservation booked through BitsAndPlaces automatically includes the Bitcoin-linked promotional rebate opportunity (the “Promotion”). There is no separate opt-in election and no lower-priced non-promotional booking option on the platform. The Promotion is a travel promotion, not an investment, security, savings product or purchase of cryptocurrency.
No Bitcoin ownership or wallet is required. You do not receive Bitcoin and have no ownership interest in any cryptocurrency held by BitsAndPlaces or anyone else.
How the Promotion works
• At successful payment, BitsAndPlaces records a BTC/USD reference price using the price source and timestamp disclosed at checkout or in your confirmation.
• At the scheduled check-in time, BitsAndPlaces records a second BTC/USD price using the same disclosed source.
• If the check-in price is higher than the booking reference price, the eligible reservation qualifies for a U.S.-dollar promotional rebate equal to 20% of the Eligible Booking Amount.
• If the check-in price is equal to or lower than the booking reference price, no promotional rebate is due.
• Your confirmed reservation price does not increase because Bitcoin declines.
Unless the checkout page states otherwise, the “Eligible Booking Amount” means the lodging subtotal, including the platform charge incorporated into the displayed booking rate, and excludes taxes, cleaning fees, deposits, damage charges, optional services and other add-ons.
A qualifying rebate will be issued in U.S. dollars within 10 business days after the scheduled check-in, using the original payment method or another method disclosed to you. Processing times after issuance depend on the payment provider and financial institution.
Promotion limitations
• Cancelled, refunded, fraudulent, chargeback, no-show or unpaid reservations are not eligible.
• A material change to dates, property, price or primary guest may cause the Promotion to be recalculated using a new reference price or removed, as disclosed before the change is accepted.
• The Promotion is personal to the primary guest, has no cash value before eligibility is determined, and may not be transferred or sold.
• Only one Promotion may apply to a reservation unless we state otherwise.
• We may correct a manifest calculation or data error. We will not retroactively change a properly recorded reference merely because Bitcoin later moves.
• The Promotion is void where prohibited and is subject to any eligibility, geographic or value limits displayed at checkout.
7. Guest responsibilities and property rules
You and your guests must follow occupancy limits, pet rules, parking requirements, quiet hours, smoking restrictions, safety instructions and all other rules in the listing, confirmation or property guide. Parties, commercial activity, unlawful conduct and undisclosed guests or animals are prohibited unless expressly authorized.
You are responsible for damage, loss, extraordinary cleaning, fines or other costs caused by you or your guests beyond ordinary wear and tear. We or the Host may charge documented amounts to the payment method on file when authorized by the booking terms and applicable law.
8. Check-in, check-out and access
Check-in and check-out times are stated in the listing or confirmation. Access instructions may be provided shortly before arrival. Early arrival or late departure requires written approval and may involve an additional charge.
9. Property conditions and guest concerns
Notify BitsAndPlaces or the Host promptly if the property is inaccessible, materially different from the listing, unsafe, or missing an essential advertised amenity. When reasonably possible, allow an opportunity to inspect and correct the issue. Delayed reporting may limit available remedies.
10. Cancellations, changes and refunds
Cancellations and refunds are governed by the Cancellation Policy and any property-specific cancellation terms displayed before payment. If property-specific terms conflict with the default policy, the property-specific terms shown at checkout control.
Date, guest-count, pet or property changes are not guaranteed. An approved change may affect price, taxes, fees, availability and Promotion eligibility.
11. Host or platform cancellation
If a confirmed stay must be cancelled because the property becomes unavailable or cannot legally or safely accommodate the reservation, we will provide a refund of amounts paid for the affected reservation or, with your agreement, help arrange a reasonable alternative. Except where required by law, we are not responsible for separate travel costs or consequential losses.
12. Assumption of ordinary travel risks
Travel and use of a private property involve ordinary risks. Review the listing, accessibility information, amenities, location and safety rules before booking. Guests are responsible for their own travel insurance, health needs and personal property.
